LOPI LAROE [USA]
Title S.O.S. #IV
Lopi LaRoe was raised in the land of the free home of the brave where she attended public schools, community colleges and a state university. LaRoe has been accused of being an artist her whole life. This has been both a curse and a blessing. When asked the question "What are you?" she will only answer: "a two legger" Her performative works explore the relationship between being human and existing in a highly controlled world. She uses the language of performance to communicate how she experiences the degradation of the environment, the corporate take-over, consumerism and the increasing divide between society and the natural world. Activating created environments, LaRoe brings an authenticity to living in imaginary circumstances.
