GES Guest Curators Series 2013
Anonymous Boh of the Non Grata Group
Grace Exhibition Space’s mission is to establish an environment that supports exchange and collaboration among performance artists and audiences from diverse cultures and artistic backgrounds. We seek artists who exhibit an interest in cross-cultural collaboration and exploration.
About the Curator
Al Paldrok, alias Anonymous Boh of the international Non Grata Group, will be the second Guest Curator for the fall performance program at Grace Exhibition Space in Brooklyn.
Estonian Anonymous Boh (Al Paldrok) has been active from 1992 on a frameless territory where an art object has seized to exist as a physical piece. The space has many dimensions upon which the activity has been built. Curating the performance group Non Grata actually means creating a certain kind of school, which can be characterized by features as structured chaos, performances in arbitrary environments and interiors.
By obtaining its reputation as an alternative, Boh, has swooped onto the global art landscape without looking back. Performances, art tours organized in tens of cities across Europe, Asia and America have turned the notoriously alternative Non Graters into a creative collective who are much better known elsewhere than in Estonia. Their experience is not a subject much talked about, although artistic activity transcending boundaries of art and countries is today’s artist’s most desirable self-realization.
Anonymous Boh has been active in many capacities: as a member of the performance group Non Grata; as Founder and Director of the Academia Non Grata in Parnu, Estonia; as Founder, Organizer and Curator of the International Diverse Universe Performance Art Festival which started in Tallinn, Estonia and is now a touring nomadic festival throughout Europe. He also participates throughout the year with the Non Grata Group in festivals in North and South America. Europe and Asia.
At Grace Exhibition Space, Anonymous Boh’s program collects together Nordic Baltic Performance Art Network and connects it to the World wide Perforamtive Network!
During Anonymous Boh’s residency, he will present a live performance art event every second Friday night in GES and Performance exhibitions in between.
Be ready to meet things you’re never ready for, Wild Visuals, Weird Sounds, Crazy Actions, Unexpected Results, Political Statements, and Even More! Squatting personal and public space - physically, virtually, mentally.

Opened in 2006, Grace Exhibition Space is devoted exclusively to Performance Art. We offer an opportunity to experience visceral and challenging works by the current generation of international performance artists whether emerging, mid-career or established. Our events are presented on the floor, not on a stage, dissolving the boundary between artist and viewer. This is how performance art is meant to be experienced and our mission is the glorification of performance art.
Grace Exhibition Space presents over 30 curated live performance art exhibitions each year, showcasing new work by more than 400 performance artists from across the United States and the world since 2006.
