Saskia Edens [Switzerland]
A breath of life. If a thread running through it all were to be unwound, that would be it. With "Breath" Saskia Edens proposes just that, a mixture of breaths, in pairs- the breathing makes small holes in a sheet of ice which she carries around from person to person. The slowly melting ice generates the potential of physical contact n^between the artist and the visitors. (…) Edens is one of those rare beings capable of combining grace and energy, violence and poetry. her performances are statements of the transformation of both matter and the body, and in a sense they parallel the world of scientific experiments where the final result is never conclusively established. We discover the magic of metamorphosis. Véronique Yersin

Ron Whitehead:Sindy Butz [Berlin/NYC]
Sindy Butz is a Berlin based Visual and Performance Artist currently working and living in New York City. She was born in East Germany and grew up in the suburbs of East Berlin. Her artistic background is Fine Art, Art Science and Interactive Telecommunications. As a multi- media artist and sculptress she likes to initiate discourses between fashion designers, scientists, technologist and artists to conceptualize new possible collaborations within the art; science and business world. Sindy enjoys exploring her art concepts as research inquiries. She mainly creates ceramic objects surrounding the human body in Installations, Performances and Sculptures. Her main approach is the investigation of making sculptures become wearable art. Her art works are pure; fragile; perfectionist; sometimes radical and questioning. They have the ability to engage the audience and give an invitation to reflect, dream and hope.
Sindy Butz:Son of the Widow [Kentucky]
Son of the Widow is a genre-crossing combination of world progressive rock & pop interwoven with metal. The drum set is centered around the tablas with aspects of traditional drums including electronic percussion & other percussion from all over the world. The guitar is a mix of acoustic and electric – delicately serenading listeners, and violently attacking them on a whim. The vocals and lyrics are dramatically charged, yet soothing & inviting rendering to all the many influences make up the dynamics of the band.
If King Crimson & Ravi Shankar had a baby…& Jimmy Page was her god father…she would be our muse.
Non Grata Group [Estonia]
NON GRATA - ART OF THE INVISIBLES: Voluntarily Out of Focus
Around the name NON GRATA there have been different hushes and shushes for a long time. Already from the point of view of death of conventionalization of art it has embodied the horrible and unwanted disembodiment of the human person, from which the meaninglessness of nowadays art, is pouring out.
NON GRATA is a international performance group from Estonia with floating membership. In Non Grata there has been more than 300 members during the last 12 years from all over the world. The main characteristics is anonymity in group work, ignorance of local art world and mass media. Non Grata Group has performed in Asia, Europe, South and North America with street actions, chaotic space and context specific performances and long lasting ghetto marathons.
Mathieu Sylvestre
Mathieu Sylvestre moved to Berlin in 2010 and experiments with noise in performance art. Mathieu's work focuses on bringing noise music with a plastic and physical/corporal approach. The sound is loud and makes matters and bodies vibrated. The air takes a solid dimension.

Horea (pictured below)
Is there a Degree in Immigration? Stateless from Transylvania, holder of a Re-Entry Permit, horea is the only one of a kind ever to be deported to the US. With his Green Card upgraded to Citizenship he celebrates his Silver Anniversary: I Am an Artist and I VETO!
horea started as a photographer. Text and languages became part of his conceptual practice. His critique and dialogue with the art institution established his imagery as a "still performance artist". Readings in various languages created short perforormance pieces. He discovered the "protean" exchange with the audience and interaction with communities.
This week he parades on 14th Street, New York with umbrellas, skateboards and paper tubes as walking sticks, all as support for various printed messages in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian and Spanish. Abjection, alienation and anxiety of Ex-ile as an odd decor in an art space. Part of the Art in Odd Places Festival 2012: MODEL.

Being a Brooklyn loft, our events are presented on the floor, not on a stage, dissolving the boundary between artist and viewer. We believe this is how performance art is meant to be experienced.
